Event Proofing

My current event proofing on my website has gone through a major overhaul which will improve the service, ease of use and the resolution of images within each event. As with any technical change the site is experience a few glitches which I'm in the process of ironing out. I apologise if this is causing anyone any problems and hope to have the changeover complete very shortly.

Valentines Wedding

Photobucket
On Saturday I photographed the lovely wedding of Rachel and Nick in Oxford. After getting married in St Peters Church in Wolvercote their reception was held in The Tythe Barn in Bicester. I was fortunate to have my lovely wife Katie working with me on this day for romantics and it was a great way to spend valentines with a very much in love couple and their family and friends.

Being a romantic myself I could not pass up the opportunity to include flowers in this post as the bride had chosen some beautiful pink roses for her bouquets.

As usual their full wedding story will follow shortly.

Snow Days

Photobucket
Two days off school for the little ones and lots of trips to our nearest hill where I became the human stair lift. Great exercise though and I may have sneaked the odd downhill run during the course of the day or two.

Picture wise it was a day for the iphone. I was wondering how it would cope with exposing for the snow and lets face it the camera is not the stand out feature of the phone. It didn't do too badly actually but what I really liked about the pictures was that because the resolution is not the greatest they really do have that toy camera, Holga feel about them. With a little photoshop you can really embrace that look and feel. I'm not sure how one of my brides would feel with me brandishing an iphone and claiming it would look artistic but for trips with the kids it's certainly got me thinking.

Gone tobogganing...

It's not often the South of England gets covered in deep snow but as the country comes to a standstill, there's nothing left to do other than take the kids to the nearest hill and do some tobogganing.

If you go to one wedding fair this year...

Photobucket
I only exhibit at one wedding fair each year and it is that time of year again when you'll be able to find me at Loseley Park (just off the B3000, Guildford, Surrey). Loseley is one of my favourite regular venues with just so many photographic opportunities. Also there are some wonderful people working there who really do help make every wedding at Loseley as perfect as possible.

On the day, you'll find a wide range of exhibitors to help make all your planning go smoothly whether your thinking of getting married at Loseley or not and there are fashion shows in the beautiful Great Hall throughout the day or you can just lose yourself in the lovely all year round gardens.

I hope to see you there.

Louisa & Craig at The Berystede

My first post of the new year and what better way to begin than with my last wedding of last year. Louisa and Craig were married at St John Baptist Church in West Byfleet with their reception held at The Berystede Hotel in Ascot.

It was one of those overcast grey winter days with very flat but soft light, always a challenge. After the service everyone had some time outside the church and then made their way across to the reception. Having warmed up in the hotel with drinks, good food and great speeches the guests were in for one last surprise as the whole wedding party invaded the couples first dance as zombies, yes zombies, and then all them including the bride and groom proceeded to complete the Michael Jackson Thriller routine...some first dance!
