Bank Holiday Weekend

On Friday I photographed the lovely wedding of Carol and Iain at the Felix hotel in Cambridge. This was an intimate wedding full of love and laughter. Carol was a bridesmaid at one of my weddings last year and it was great to also see Karen & Richard again at this wedding. As usual the full wedding story will follow shortly but for now here are Carols shoes.

Then on Saturday I shot the wedding of Melanie and Stuart at Wotton House in Dorking. A very grand building with lovely grounds gave ample opportunity for lots of photographs in the August heat. One of the benefits of Wotton House is that you can decide on the day whether to get married inside or outside depending on the weather. With the sun shining there was never any choice for the happy couple who were wed in the mid day sunshine. Their full wedding story will also follow shortly but for now here is a shot of their outdoor ceremony set up.

Juliet & Alex wed at Northbrook Park

On a balmy English summer's day Juliet & Alex tied the knot at the beautiful Northbrook Park in Farnham. With peacocks roaming the large grounds and georgeous rooms and gardens, the lovely couple and their guests enjoyed a wedding day full of fun, happiness and love. A hog roast was served up in the marquee and after the kids had finished playing British bulldog for hours, the dancing kicked off in style.

Wiltshire Wedding

In early August I photographed the marriage of the lovely Gemma & James in a beautiful church in Chilton Foliat, Wiltshire. After the service everyone went back to Gemma's parents house where a huge marquee was ready to greet the guests along with champagne and raspberries. This was a wonderfully fun, personal and memorable wedding party.

As usual their full wedding story will follow on shortly but for now here is a shot I culled from the archives, just kidding, Gemma's Father had dusted off this beautiful camera to take some shots with during the day and I could not resist capturing a shot with it and the button holes.

Latest News

Over the last week I've managed to have a break in the Witterings to recharge the batteries and spend some time building sandcastles with the kids. What is nice is to arrive back to lots of good news.

As there hasn't been a post for over a week here goes with three news items in one.

Photobucket
Firstly, I have been shortlisted as one of the finalists of Wedding Photographer of the Year with The Wedding Retailer Awards 2008.

"The Wedding Network Retailer Awards are the only awards that are voted for by wedding professionals and fellow peers, the Awards have been set up to reward the cream of the wedding industry.

With the wedding industry getting tougher and tougher it is important to recognise innovation, design and passion and with that in mind our judges will have a difficult but rewarding job."

The results are announced on 27th September but I'm over the moon to be in with a shout in this years competition. You can find out more by visiting their website: www.theweddingretailerawards.co.uk

Secondly, I found out that one of my images from Claire & Ian's wedding (above) in March, placed in the recent quarterly competition of the [AG]WPJA which I'm delighted about. To see all the winners from around the world visit [AG]WPJA

And finally, one of my weddings from last year is currently being featured in Perfect Wedding, September 2008 edition. Helen & Rob were married at Nutfield Priory in June last year and I'm really pleased they now have another great memento from their beautiful wedding day.

Lara & Martyn at West Stoke House

The lovely Lara & Martyn were married at All Saints Church in Grayswood, Nr Haslemere. A beautiful day graced the couples wedding and the quintessential English cricket match was in full swing opposite their church during the service. After the congratulations the wedding party made their way across the downs to the beautiful West Stoke House, near Chichester. Pimms and strawberries on the lawn was followed by a lovely meal, some great speeches and a solo rendition from our very own groom.

New Forest Wedding

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing my friends wedding in the New Forest. The beautiful Laura got ready with her Mum and bridesmaids in Carey's Manor and was then married to Chris at Our Lady & St Edward Church in Lyndhurst. Their reception was held at Brockenhurst College. The folklore came true with rain before seven, clear by eleven as after the service the couple and their guests enjoyed a lovely summers day. We made full use of the Forest surroundings by stopping off on the way to the reception to shoot some woodland portraits. Their full wedding story will follow but here are Laura's shoes for now.
