Annette & Daniel's Wedding at Great Fosters

Todays wedding update is from the gorgeous wedding of Annette and Daniel held at Great Fosters in Egham. After getting ready upstairs with all her bridesmaids they then made their way to the ceremony which was held in the Orangery which I always love as it floods with natural light. After a really moving service it was outside to enjoy the beautiful grounds and celebrate with friends and family. The wedding breakfast was held in the tithe barn which had been decorated with a gold theme which was very effective and after dinner, speeches and some sparklers it was time to dance the night away. This wedding was organised by the wonderful Rebecca of Temple Gregory Weddings & Events who made sure the day looked and ran beautifully - www.templegregory.co.uk

Kirkby Family Shoot

It is always great to see previous wedding clients again and nothing better than being invited to meet and photograph new members of their family as well as the existing ones - I last saw the girls playing with fake snow and an ice queen at their parents winter wonderland wedding celebration back in 2013. For this shoot (as it was very cold outside) I set up a backdrop at their home and along with the newborn baby pictures of fingers and toes and cute hats we also shot some portraits of the girls too. photo kirkby_01_zpsj2hhk0je.jpg photo kirkby_02_zpsigzkmwiy.jpg photo kirkby_03_zpsuyrxdy81.jpg photo kirkby_04_zpsc3ubq7yp.jpg photo kirkby_06_zps5ii4moe0.jpg photo kirkby_05_zps0djgghwr.jpg photo kirkby_07_zpsxynkgjnr.jpg photo kirkby_08_zps0jgmvqya.jpg

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and enjoyed their New Year celebrations. As with every new year I always try and give myself a little challenge to keep the creative juices flowing. Last year I wanted to do more project work and have worked with quite a few models which has allowed me more time to experiment with lighting and posing which I've really enjoyed.

Below is one of my favourite pictures from the year from a shoot with a dancer/model which was created with the theme of the battle between the white swan and the black swan from Swan Lake. This was one of the more difficult shoots as it combined two images into one frame with lighting for each 'swan'.

This year as well as doing a lot more portraiture work I am going to start a still life project focusing on flowers and plants and aim to shoot one fine art picture every week so I end the year at 52 new images. I'm not going to constrict myself creatively to a specific style of shooting but the end image must be one I'd be happy to frame and put on my wall. So expect the week one picture very shortly.
