Sarah & Jamie's Wedding at Farnham House Hotel

I'm a little behind on my recent wedding updates but am endeavouring to keep you as up to date as I can but the weddings are coming thick and fast at the moment so please bear with me. Today's update is from the beautiful wedding of Sarah & Jamie which was held at Farnham House Hotel in Surrey. A lovely venue with it's own small lake and grounds making for some great pictures of the couple and their guests. Sarah got ready at home then made her way to the venue where Jamie awaited and after an emotional wedding ceremony the couple enjoyed the voices of Sarah's school choir which was an incredibly personal and memorable gift. After some drinks and canapes it was onto the wedding breakfast and speeches with plenty of help from some, shall we say, interesting pictorial evidence. After the couple's first dance the evening really got going when a flash mob descended and filled up the dance floor. Sarah and Jamie's wedding was full of love and laughter and as the famous toast says no doubt a happy ever after.

'I have always wanted to walk through that painting'

I thought today I would share something a little different. Pretty much the vast majority of my work is about capturing those special moments of the day in the most beautiful way possible but sometimes an opportunity presents itself to create something extra too.

At the getting ready of Francesca's recent wedding I noticed a really striking and quite beautiful painting hanging on the wall. It was rich in colour and brush strokes and unusually held my attention for longer than normal and that was what set me thinking. So I took a clean picture of it and started to think how I might use this within the set of wedding pictures I'd give to Francesca. Later in the day, again surrounded by rich colours I shot a picture of the couple walking away focusing on the trees, just like the painting itself and this gave the couple a lovely slight blur of movement to them. So back at base I started to work on the two images to combine the best aspects to try and create something unique. Whilst working I found the colours to be too distracting to the moment so I colourised the composition and the whole thing came alive.

This is not something that would or can happen at every wedding I shoot but I'm always looking for those extra opportunities that might create that unusual couple portrait that hopefully they will love as much as I do. I've put the three images in this post for you so you can see how it all came together. photo painting_1_original_zpsec86bb0e.jpg photo painting_2_couple_zpse0aa8275.jpg photo painting_3_final_zpsdd26715f.jpg When the bride saw this picture she wrote to me "The moments that we had alone on our wedding day were, to me, some of the most meaningful and precious. This photo captures something perfectly, us starting our own family. The two of us. We think it is fantastic that you have put something together which is so very unique to us and personal. I love the oil painting, I have always wanted to walk through it! Thank you!

Meera & Lucy's wedding at The Dairy, Waddesdon Manor

Todays update is from the gorgeous wedding of Meera & Lucy held at The Dairy, Waddesdon Manor. Held on the longest day of the year and possibly one of the hottest so far too which allowed the brides, their family and friends to enjoy the fabulous surrounds of a unique venue and outdoor wedding celebration. Meera got ready just down the road at Hartwell House whilst Lucy was getting ready at Long Crendon Manor. Once ready they made their journey's to the Dairy in lovely old vintage cars making sure no one got a sneak peek beforehand. Meera wore a beautiful traditional sari along with her bridesmaids whilst Lucy wore a gorgeous wedding dress. Individually beautiful and when seen together the brides looked just amazing. Overlooking the pond the couple made their vows and enjoyed a very personal and beautiful ceremony. Then it was onto the reception and playing hunt for the shade as the sun shone down relentlessly. Pictures in the rose garden followed and then the wedding breakfast began after Meera & Lucy came into the room to a huge round of applause and proceeded to high five everyone. Food and very thoughtful and loving speeches followed and as evening approached the happy couple set up the evening fun with the cake cutting and lovely first dance. This was a truly unique and beautiful wedding to photograph that brought together family and friends in celebration of a couples love. photo meeralucy_01_zps2bceb5a3.jpg photo meeralucy_02_zps58401778.jpg photo meeralucy_03_zps7a63f8f9.jpg photo meeralucy_04_zps9127d3d6.jpg photo meeralucy_05_zpscb6061b4.jpg photo meeralucy_06_zpsbff359ea.jpg photo meeralucy_07_zps0d2a5901.jpg photo meeralucy_08_zps950901c7.jpg photo meeralucy_09_zpsa7b5ab24.jpg photo meeralucy_10_zps0c1a1a0e.jpg photo meeralucy_11_zps943376f0.jpg photo meeralucy_12_zpsf0f54354.jpg photo meeralucy_13_zpscd9bd4c7.jpg photo meeralucy_14_zps1889bc2d.jpg photo meeralucy_15_zps96626d02.jpg photo meeralucy_16_zps6b1712ee.jpg photo meeralucy_17_zpsf8404d91.jpg photo meeralucy_18_zpsb3fcd29e.jpg photo meeralucy_19_zps61d529ab.jpg photo meeralucy_20_zpsdc346506.jpg photo meeralucy_21_zps39936a55.jpg photo meeralucy_23_zpsf3939c76.jpg photo meeralucy_22_zps153d4b0a.jpg photo meeralucy_24_zps6e72e93f.jpg

Francesca & Jamal's wedding at Battersea Park

Todays update is from the gorgeous wedding of Francesca and Jamal. A couple of years ago I met Francesca and Jamal at the wedding of her Mother so it was lovely to get reacquainted with the family again. Getting ready took place at her Mum's house in Battersea and then it was off to the Church of the Holy Spirit in Clapham. After a lovely service in a very grand church it was back to Battersea Pump House Gallery and a reception in the park. Although thunderstorms were forecast the only rain we saw was in the early morning and once the sun came out the whole day turned into one great party in the park. Ice creams, photo booths, a huge cheese table and walks by the lake, all in all a beautiful and very memorable wedding celebration. photo fran_01_zps32a03f0c.jpg photo fran_02_zpsb55b6713.jpg photo fran_03_zps5c78b919.jpg photo fran_04_zps4b70e329.jpg photo fran_05_zpsfc3bc5bc.jpg photo fran_06_zpsd7dfb803.jpg photo fran_07_zps037231a0.jpg photo fran_08_zpsc8a291fc.jpg photo fran_09_zps98bef7a8.jpg photo fran_10_zpsbcf1e432.jpg photo fran_11_zpscc770874.jpg photo fran_12_zps8c30e2f1.jpg photo fran_13_zps2e6fd9bf.jpg photo fran_14_zps3252a0f7.jpg photo fran_15_zps6c27c6c8.jpg photo fran_16_zps5514808f.jpg photo fran_17_zpsf206e823.jpg photo fran_18_zpsd3b02ba8.jpg
