Karen & Craig Wed at Hampden House

Set in the the Chiltern Hills, in a small village called Great Hampden resides Hampden House A perfect venue for a wedding with plenty of grounds for guests to enjoy as well as a lovely rural church a stones throw from the famous house. This lets you have a two location wedding in the one location, quite rare.

I was lucky enough to photograph Karen & Craig's wedding in the church on 9th December, which was a lovely and emotional service. We then used the church as a backdrop for some pictures before moving across to Hampden House to capture the couples first moments together as husband and wife.

Inside the house there was a real contrast of styles and era's of decoration which gave ample opportunity for some great pictures. With a roaring log fire in one room and a party going on next door, no one seem to notice the cold. John Hampden looking down from his picture on the wall would of been proud of all his guests.

Whose Shoes?

I've realised that as I like my bride & grooms to always be the first people to see their pictures, I do tend to have gaps in my posting, either during the time I spend creating the images after the day or in the availability of the couple to meet up to see their pictures.

So here's the plan. Every bride and future bride likes shoes, right? So I'm sure the couples will not mind if I highlight their wedding with a single shot of their lovely shoes. This way I can let you know what weddings I've been shooting and you get to see some beautiful shoes too. Then once the couple have their pictures I can upload my more detailed feature of their wedding.

So, back on 9th December 2006 I shot the wedding of Karen & Craig at Hampden House in Buckinghamshire (above).

On the 22nd December 2006 I shot the wedding of Louise & Paul at Chewton Glen Hotel and Country Club in the New Forest (above).

and on New Years Eve I photographed the wedding of Charlie & Matt at Tylney Hall in Basingstoke (above).

Please check back to see their featured posts very soon.

Rebecca & Lee - 25th November 2006

Rebecca & Lee were married at The Old Mill in Aldermaston. The morning that greeted their wedding day was horribly wet and windy but amazingly a small window of light opened up and the afternoon and early evening was bathed in rich winter sunshine. Later on in the evening the window closed and gave way to the forecast storms. Incredibly lucky.

Making the most of the generous weather the lovely couple braved the cold to help create some beautiful portraiture by the river and old buildings. Mulled wine awaited their return to help warm them up and start the celebration in style.
