Saturday's Wedding

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing Carolyn and Martin's beautiful wedding at Barnett Hill in Wonersh, Surrey. A stunning day of emotion, fun, family and friends basking in the perfect late June sunshine. A mix of Norwegian, English and Scottish celebrated the love of the gorgeous couple which even had the registrar in tears during the emotional service.

As ever the couple's full wedding story will follow shortly but here is a picture of the rings. They say never work with animals or children but I'll add ice to that as it took ages to get the rings to stand nicely in the ice cube with only seconds to spare before it melted or slid off out of frame, still I think it was worth the effort.

Poetry

In the spirit of blogging about more than just my work I was going through my bookshelf last night and found a series of books I had made when just a wee bit younger (well quite a bit if I'm honest). Yes, I have to confess I wrote poetry as I grew up and to an extent still do, I've always loved writing which is why I like this blog so much and why I'm enjoying writing articles for Perfect Wedding now too. As I flicked through the poetry books I wrote, I found a couple of titles that I thought I would share with you, specifically as they are about weddings (maybe I was always destined to work in the wedding industry). I wrote this first one before my sisters wedding nearly twelve years ago.

When is the Wedding

When the sun rises on that morning
And the birdsong awakens the natural dawning
When your heart fills with more than just life
And your love makes you man and wife
When the people you've shared your life with
Come to you and blessings give
When you declare in a moment in time
That you are each others for all time
When you exchange rings and look in the eye
The reason for life, the reason why
When your heart is theirs and theirs is yours
And together you open the future's doors
When nothing can ever tear you apart
With love always healing the broken heart
When the dusk sets on this day
With you together always to stay
When the day is gone
But the memory and love lives on
When you've come together
And remain that way forever.

If I don't get too slated for posting some romantic verse I'll follow up with the other wedding one and who knows maybe some more too.

Sonia & Bruce wed at Barnsgate Manor

On a seriously hot and sunny Sunday, Sonia and Bruce had a beautiful wedding at Barnsgate Manor in Sussex. After getting ready at her parent's house, Sonia made the journey to Barnsgate where Bruce was waiting for her replete in kilt. A lovely service was followed by much needed drinks in the grounds which boast beautiful views over the surrounding countryside.

After some lovely food and great speeches the evening guests arrived and the party began.

Sunday's Wedding

Yesterday I photographed the beautiful wedding of Wendy and Marc at Northbrook Park in Farnham. A lovely venue, great weather and wonderful couple made this a day full of great photo opportunities. To end their day the guests were invited to launch their own lanterns into the night sky and make a wish.

As ever their full wedding story will follow on shortly but for now here's a look at Wendy's wedding shoes.

Perfect Wedding - July 2009

This month's Perfect Wedding is quite a big deal for me. Firstly the lovely Gemma & James have their wedding featured in the magazine as well as having a picture of them on the front cover (yes it is small but it's still there!) they also head up the Real Life Weddings section with a lovely shot of them kissing. They then have four pages all about their wedding which was a beautiful day in Wiltshire (you can find more pictures of their wedding by using my previous featured weddings links on the side bar).

To add to that I am featured on the contributors page with a nice little bit about me and one of my more unusual wedding venues and finally an article I wrote for Perfect Wedding about how to choose your wedding photographer is featured on page 49 of the magazine.

Here's the magazine stills but I do recommend buying it too of course!

Friday's Wedding

Rebecca & Matthew were married in The Royal Chapel within Windsor Great Park on Friday. A really beautiful church and being a private Royal chapel, a venue that is unlikely to come up too often on a wedding photographers CV. After arriving in horse drawn carriage, driven by the brides father, using Rebecca's horses, the couple and guests enjoyed a lovely service followed by a reception held at The Fox and Hounds. Hiring out the entire pub, the couple decorated it in true English picnic/fair style and had a hog roast to complete the occasion. As usual the full wedding story will follow but for now here is a shot of the tables, butterflies and flowers for the sit down meal.

Dartmouth Wedding Weekend

I have just come back from shooting the beautiful wedding of Kerry and Alex in Dartmouth. A fabulous long weekend spent with lovely people, enjoying the scenery, sunshine and above all the love of the gorgeous wedding couple.

Kerry and Alex were married in The Royal Castle Hotel right on the front overlooking the harbour full of ships. After the ceremony, food and a fair few pictures we were off for a cruise down the river to end the day.

I even managed to have a round of golf at the Dartmouth Golf and Country Club on the Sunday after their wedding before I came home. Perfect.

As usual their full wedding story will follow but for now here is a shot of the rings with an appropriate boat theme.
